So to the 3 ppl who listened to my Freda Utley Episode, this is a status update. I realize that my content is free, but time is a currency and a valuable one. My initial interest with Virginia Durr was her connection to the Civil Rights movement especially as a Southern aristocrat. I have read many leftist memoirs, but upon reading hers, I discovered that her social links with the the New Deal and its elite (as well as her husband Clifford’s) were quite extensive. She knew Alger Hiss. She knew Henry Wallace. I realized that I wanted to just discuss this entire period of time with Virginia Durr as an instructive focal point. And what a wonderful focal point her political career was! So every time I explored something she mentioned, I remembered a previous book I read, a previous ex-commie memoir, a Western Islands, or a Devin Adair book that has been mothballed. So I have been re-reading them, and citing them. I ultimately felt that Utley episode I did was lacking and got some constructive listener input on this. I want to eventually just cover both the fall of China and Cuba on their own. I hope when this episode comes out it will leave you with a far more three-dimensional view of this misunderstood era in American history. But its more than that. It is a misunderstood era in world history. I think that Durr gives a great snapshot of the New Dealers their worldview, and the mental defenses they had in their minds even after changing the world, sometimes for the worse.
I want to add a further point. Anyone who listens to this upcoming episode that has two brain cells will easily see the UR influence. I will never deny it, and I owe a great debt to that amazing blog which really laid out American history in a way that got me more interested than a high school and college education full of teachers and required texts ever did. But UR was not the fuse. The person who actually got me to read these sources about 5 or 6 years ago was a blogger named Foseti. This man actually started reading all those google books that Yarvin linked and wrote thoughtful and engaging critiques on them. He did so with a family, a good job, and a sound mind. He is a giant, and I don’t think I would have even started reading this stuff were it not for his amazing blog. I’ve never talked with this man, or communicated with him. In fact, he stopped writing years before I discovered him. Nonetheless, I consider him one of my heroes. He didn’t get the popularity of UR, but now with Elon Musk and DOGE the average Red State American is more familiar with with the ideas that Foseti and Yarvin wrote about, and these two men wrote this stuff when Mitt Romney and the Tea Party were considered viable options to stop the march of liberalism. Being first is always impressive, and Foseti observed many of the traits of USG firsthand that Yarvin wrote about from his reading and upbringing. They both agreed, but came to the same conclusions through their own personal experiences. I will paste some of Foseti’s old blog posts after this episode comes out.
Anyway, I realize that many aspects of my little operation are primitive especially editing etc., but I hope that the content speaks for itself. I don’t have a release date, but please stay tuned!
We're looking forward to Durr and more Foseti citations
